What to Wear to the Colosseum?

Written by: Kate Zusmann

What to wear to the Colosseum?
Website www.colosseum.how

Although the Colosseum is one of the most significant landmarks in Rome, there is no specific dress code required to visit this iconic monument. What to wear will largely depend on the weather conditions, so it’s advisable to check the forecast in advance and come prepared, particularly for the possibility of rain. The time of year you plan to visit the Eternal City will influence what clothing to bring.

When in Rome, wear comfortable shoes—it’s best to explore the city on foot.

Additionally, keep a close eye on your bags, as crowded areas near Rome’s major attractions can be hotspots for pickpocketing. It’s wise to carry some form of identification, such as a passport or ID card, with you at all times. Also, consider carrying some cash, as not all of Rome’s attractions or small vendors accept card payments—especially when purchasing simple items like bottled water or a scoop of gelato while you’re out and about.
